What 1x is
1x is a small product family by Pham Xuan Hieu built around an everyday problem: the file you have is not in the format you need. It includes the 1xQuickConvertFormat app for Mac, the Save Image as JPG, PNG, WebP Chrome extension, the Bình Dân Học Vụ Số Pro extension for learners on online video courses, and four tools that run on the web. The family also includes Xuan Hieu Learning Note, a note-taking extension for Coursera learners, live on the Chrome Web Store.
Each tool does one concrete job and states its limits. Every page has a "what it does not do" part, because a tool that over-promises lets people down exactly when they need it.
Why nothing is uploaded
Files that need converting are often ID scans, family photos, contracts, payroll sheets, students' work. They should not pass through a stranger's server just to change their extension.
So the 1x web tools read files inside your browser with the browser's own engine. The Mac app converts on the machine and only goes online to activate its licence. The Chrome extension converts images in the browser and sends them nowhere.
Which tool to use
- Files on your Mac, many types, many at once: 1xQuickConvertFormat. Hold Shift, drag, drop on the format.
